Dallas County Water & Sewer Authority was created by the Dallas County Commission in 1969 in order to construct a public water system to supply the Selmont and Craig Field areas of Dallas County. The system consists of 2 wells, a treatment plant, 3 elevated tanks, and approximately 30 miles of water mains. The system also owns and operates a waste water treatment plant which was originally constructed in the early 1970s. Dallas County Water & Sewer Authority provides services primarily to the residents and businesses located in the Selmont community on the east side of the Alabama River, near Selma, AL.
